My suggestion would be to download a program like
Spybot S&D and see if it finds anything.

Subject: browser invasion
Greetings.
I just now have taken on some kind of unknown program which is
forcing my IE
browser to not go to the pages I tell it to go. I already tried several
attempts to close and reopen IE, but the same thing keeps happening.
