I would expect the Mobil chips to use less power AND run cooler...
Are you CERTAIN your MB supports the Mobil Chip?
Is the core is correct. Also the FSB and voltages?
What MB model and revision, and BIOS revision do you have?
Did you buy an M or an MP? See the following chart:
