I'm putting asystem together around the Intel SE7505VB2 and since it has
SATA but drives are expensive I'm a little caught on how to have the speed
to do NLE and large census data set queries.

Perhaps I could spring for one Raptor WD360GD to put the OS/Apps on and two
less expensive 120 SE's on EIDE, one for data the other as a scratch disk to
render to. The other EIDE channel for a CD-RW drive and DVD-R.
Later as prices come down build a SATA RAID 0 for data and SATA RAID 1 for
OS/Apps and possibly one EIDE SE for a scratch disk. Permanent storage of
finished work could be burned to DVD/CD-R.
Thanks for the input. Steve.
