20 years ago I read a book about potential new crops. They scoured the
earth looking at all the things various people ate that are not big
crops now. Among them were quite a few African foods. I particularly
remember pictures of a big tuber the Bushmen dug up.  It was a US
government publication, I believe. Wish I could remember the title...
