Actually, Pres. Bush the 1st's reaction to Andrew sucked and it was deemed
to little too slow. Some feel it was one of the many reasons he lost to
Clinton. Gov. Bush wasn't around yet.

Pres. Bush responded much more quickly when Hurricane Andrew hit in 1992 -
he was there within hours. Of course that was probably because his brother
was the governor and he was the governor of Texas then. But still...!
The people of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama aren't going to forget
this, I'm sure.
