  Do you want to join the team that develops the Mac OS X software and
applications? Have you been looking for a challenging new project to
work on that will have a significant, lasting impact on the lives of
many Macintosh users? If so, then this is the group for you.

We are looking for a QA engineer with excellent communication skills to
test the spoken interface for Mac OS X. It enables a blind or partially
sighted user to use a Macintosh. You'll be responsible for testing
spoken interface for functionality and UI. You will also assess system
responsiveness when the spoken interface is enabled. The spoken
interface relies heavily on our text to speech engine. You will be
testing the TTS engine to ensure quality of speech (clarity and speed).

Job responsibilities include :
- defining the team's testing and performance strategy
- developing test suites and scripts which work with Apple's automated
test tools
- testing the functionality of the spoken interface
- helping the development team improve the UI for spoken interface
- testing speech quality at various rates of speech

Required Experience:
* BSCS or equivalent with 2+ years experience
* Must be a C developer on Mac, Unix, or Windows
* Must have experience writing scripts to automate testing
* Must have experience using screen readers and knowledge of
accessibility issues
* Must have experience testing speech synthesis or recognition
* Must be a fluent Braille reader
* Solid testing skills
* Strong communication skills is a must

Preferred Experience:
* Experience in testing or designing accessibility technology
* Knowledge of accessibility APIs and techniques
* Familiarity with Mac OS X applications and frameworks
* Familiarity with linguistics
