Visual basic is a programming language developed by Microsoft for use in
windows.

It comes in several "flavors" some used to write such things as macros
for other applications like word. Some flavors used to create entire
programs.

It's called "visual basic" because its programming environment is very visual
depending on a lot of "drag and drop" and the like processes. It is, however
based on the old and popular basic language and can, I believe be written
in somewhat the same manner as previous versions of basic.

It is called an interpreted language, because when ever you "run" a program
written in visual basic, the program code, which looks sort of like compressed
english, is interpreted one step at a time.

So-called "compiled" languages like C and C++ are translated into "machine
language all at once and produce executable files that run much faster than
interpreted programs.

A run time error is generated when a program written in visual basic or some
similar interpreted language is run and there is an error of that interpretation
process.

Even trying to figure that out unless you are a visual basic programmer is
a total waiste of time. Write to the program's author and
include a number that should have appeared with the run time error.
