My mother used to make "patties" of canned salmon (and I don't know what
else) and fry them up to server on Friday nights when I was younger.  It
took me years to overcome the horror of those "salmon patties" that were
forced on me as a child. :-p

Seriously, while I can enjoy fresh or smoked salmon now, I still can't
stand the thought of canned salmon.
