If you haven't done so already. Make sure you get tested for
hypothyroidism and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) before going to the
extreme of surgery. Both can cause heavy periods.

I've read stories of women having hysterectomys, only to find out later
that if they would have had their thyroid properly treated they would not
have needed any surgery whatsover. It's crazy some of the stuff people go
through with undiagnosed or improperly treated thyroid problems
(hysterectomys, thousands of dollars of infertility treatments,
anti-depressents, sleeping pills, prescriptions, hair loss treatments,
psychotherapy, et cetera...)
