I was hospitalized Wed, Thu, Fri, for pneumonia. My physician wrote very explicit diet instructions for me. After being in the E.R.from 2 in the morning until 1030 that day I was starving. Can you imagine my surprise and horror when my lunch tray came up with a hot turkey sandwich and mashed potatoes and gravy! the topper was the pickled beets. The order form said gluten restricted diet. My physician then suggested that my husband bring my food. You can imagine how glad I was to get home. I did not eat the hospital food.
