Hi all,
Thanks to everyone for the ideas!
Well, here's what I did and I thought I'd share it with everyone and it works.
This really helps if you have more then 1 file that starts with the same first letter.
step 1. press windows key and the letter r and it will say run.
step 2. now, type the drive of the drive you're using, for example a for the floppy drive, c for your hard drive, d for a CD drive, (that's what it is on my computer anyway). Then, after the letter of the drive, type : which is the shiftg of the semicoallin, then type the file name, you don't even have to type a backslash, just type the file name, then type the file extention, for example .txt which is a text file.
Now, here's an example a:gen1.txt
which is an address for a file I have on my floppy disk. I've got more than 1 file name which starts with the letter g, so I have to be more specific.
step 3. now, after you type the file name and extention, just press enter and it will open the file and read it, or, if it is an audio file, it will play it if it's a .mp3 or .wma, or .wav
So, there ya go folks, that's how I do it at the moment, unless someone has found an easier method, and if you have, that's great, share it with the list.
Harry
So, here's an example on my floppy disk
