Yes, you could add a PCI controller card, which typically means that up to
four more drives could be attached.  Some motherboards may even have more
than the usual 2 EIDE controllers, but these are usually high end
motherboards or very new motherboards, which will come with onboard RAID
and/or onboard SATA controllers.  (Redundant Array Inexpensive Drives and
Serial ATA)
