Hi Sue
A couple of things to check:
Is your computer browser service turned on?
The following are checked:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Print Sharing for Networks
Internet Protocol (TPC/IP)
Simple file sharing enabled?
Keep firewalls turned off and only turn on when everything is running. In
Zone Alarm list each pc's ip address as trusted once everything is working.
Using the same password on each machine at login?
I'd also check out www.practicallynetworked.com
Best of luck!

Subject: [PCBUILD] Networking Configuration Problem
'm trying to network a Dell Dimension 8300 and a Dell Inspiron 5150
laptop. Both machines run WinXp with SPack 2 installed and have 512
RAM. Running Norton System Works 2003 on Dimension 8300 and AVG on
laptop. Running CounterSpy on Dimension 8300 and Microsofts Anti-Spyware
on the laptop. Internet Connection is cable... connected through a Linksys
4 port Router.
