Dear Listmates -
Here is a subject near and dear to many of our hearts - flatulence.
I have tried drinking catnip tea and taking probiotics and digestive
enzymes.
I have tried drinking peppermint tea, fennel tea, avoiding garlic, no
fried foods, etc.
I make sure what I eat and drink is gluten-free and even call manufacturers
to check. I avoid foods I am otherwise allergic too (besides avoiding
gluten).
So what else can I do for this problem? I am reluctant to take charcoal
capsules
because I have read that they interfere with mineral absorption and my bone
density is a bit low. I take calcium/mineral supplements and want to
absorb them.
Other antacids interfere with mineral absorption, too. And I am
allergic to the
active ingredient in Imodium (I think it is Loperamide Hydrochloride),
which is
also the active ingredient in Kaopectate and other formulas (and I don't
have any
diarrhea anyway).
Any ideas? Would greatly appreciate help. Some web sites say to take
fennel
seed capsules, papaya capsules, anise capsules, etc., but I don't know
if any of
that works.
Thank you very much.
Vicki
