Permanent, Full Time Post.
Salary within the Academic Related Grade 2: £25,623 -  £32,773 per annum,
inclusive of London Weighting Allowance.

As part of a major and ongoing programme of disability service developments
at Brunel University a new regional Assessment Centre (WLAC) is being
opened. This will incorporate the large and recently established Assistive
Technology Centre (ATC). The Centre houses a range of new enabling
technology and facilities in one of many new-build projects at the
University and it provides a range of needs assessment and support services
to disabled students.

We require an enthusiastic and experienced Assistive Technology Adviser to
effectively support the management of the combined Assessment Centre and
Assistive Technology Service. This will include providing training to
disabled students and staff in the use of AT, promoting the services of the
Centre and leading on matters concerning the use, maintenance and
regeneration of hardware and software.

You should have knowledge of Assistive Technology and the ability to train
people in its use, experience of PC applications and software, experience of
customer services with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to
delivering high quality services.

  Based within the expanded and highly committed Disability and Dyslexia
Service at Brunel University in Uxbridge the post-holder will work closely
with colleagues in the Library and the Computing Services as well as other
stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will play a key role in both
assisting the University to meet its obligations towards disabled people and
in helping establish the Service as a Centre of Excellence.
