I'm about to pick up a tv digital converter box.  As I understand it there 
are differences among them as to functions and form of
  access.  Has anyone any suggestions what functions you have found as a 
blind user one should consider?

I will have sighted assist for initial setup so it is the day to day kind 
of thing that is of interest.  Do they pass through sap?  I assume all tune 
channals via a remote?  Any brands particularly blind friendly?
