Soyo MB (512 M RAM), ATI video card (32M RAM), WinXP-PRO OEM
(with hardware activated version very similar to FPP) + (NON-SP1),
Philips107S 17" monitor.
The screen width of my PC will sometimes suddenly
change unexpectedly. Usually(?) after a re-boot.
I have noticed it after a warm reboot.
It can be described as loosing the left side of the picture,
and sometimes around 60-70% of the Start Button,
and "nearly" an entire row of Icons above it.
I would suspect the monitor first, but I have seen exactly
the same symptoms at Microsoft Seminars recently.
(They run VMware and switch OSs so much I forgot to
notice when it happens to them.)
If this sounds familiar to anyone, is there a "cure"...
Re-setting the monitor width with the built-in buttons
works fine for days...
I do not change video resolutions, or color depth, and
none of my programs do either... (ZERO games).
Not a huge problem, just wondering if anybody heard
of something like this.
