I agree.  It is commonly stated that the Tasmanian Aborigines didn't have
fire.  I find this dubious.  Since they came from the mainland and must have
known how to make fire (since mainlanders did) why would they suddenly
abandon it.  No sense in it.  Even if they suddenly decided that fire-making
implements were evil they could still get fire from lihtning strikes etc.
Even though they gave up fish there does seem to be a major increase at this
time in the use of the red wallaby and more of a move inland IIRC.  I don't
know what the climate was like but maybe the red wallaby had more fat than
the fish...
