Matt:  I don't think the FT 817 has synthesizer option.  I have check the
manuel for accessories, but didn't see on listed.  The IC 706 does have a
synthesizer option, but it is pretty basic in what it will read out.  I
almost got it for my 706 so I could use it with some of my students in some
fashion.  Maybe yet.  Steve n4pkj
