Shuttering Windows against attack
Associated Press

What to do if you think your computer has been tainted ith the blaster
virus:
    1. Physically disconnect the computer from the network or Internet
connection.

    2. Click on "Processes" in the "Task Manager" and end the "msblast.exe"
process. This is the so-called "LovSan" infection that has circulated.
    3. Do a search of your computer for "msblast.exe" and delete all files by
that name.
    4. Restart the computer and reconnect to the network or Internet
connection.
    5. Download and install the patch provided by Microsoft.*
    6. Once you've stopped this particular worm, it's strongly recommended
that you buy or upgrade your virus scanning software. Vendors such as
MacAfee and Symantec sell such applications.
