Hi Jo-
You can use a free program called "Everest Home" to get the make/model of your soundcard & all the rest of your hardware.

Once you know what your soundcard is, go to the homepage of the soundcard's maker & look for a heading for either "support", "drivers", or "downloads". Look for the driver set for your soundcard & download it to your desktop (easy to find it there).
If the driver is in the form of an executable file- run it & follow whatever prompts come up on screen. If it's a single .inf file only, you'll need to open device manager: right-click My Computer>properties>hardware>device manager>sound/vid/game controllers.
Find your soundcard in this list & dbl-click it. Click "update driver". If it doesn't find the file automatically, you may need to direct it, via the update dialog browse button, to manually "see" it.
