Had a similar problem running 3D graphics after installing a Radeon 9500
Pro. Don't know why, but running DXDIAG solved the problem. Can't hurt, but
may help you.

Subject: [PCBUILD] DVD Playback Stopped Functioning With Video Card Install

By the way, screen saver issue was actually fixed with SCANDISK!!!

Unbeleivable!!!

Running windows XP on a HP Pavilion 7955 (us) with 512k ram and 1.5GHZ P4.

Since the install of the Radeon 9600xt, the DVD player will not play DVD's
properly. Most current version of DirectX installed. DVD playback worked
with previous card. All that shows is a black screen. Audio plays in
background. I was previously having a Screensaver issue, but fixed, as
stated above.

Uninstalled all drivers per instructions before card install. Any help?
