My personal intention is to really discover

That is my approach too. I use Neanderthin as my guide but I use my body's
response to what I am eating as the ultimate test of what is best for me. I
also use Bernstein's "Diabetes Solution" to keep my carb count low and my
blood sugars under control. Works for me.
