I read on the beyond vegetarian web site about the
supposed fanaticism of vegetarians. There's a
difficulty in the argument, though, because of cause
and effect. Much to my shame, I have to admit I was a
vegetarian for a time when I was a college student.
And I was a bit fanatical I guess. But really the
fanaticism came earlier than the vegetarianism. I was
a young student, fanatical about many things, and so
because of peer pressure, vegetarianism became one of
those.
