My son was just diagnosed with severe wheat and egg allergies (IgG test) and
we're now on a gluten free diet without eggs, too. I can't seem to find or
have overlooked any literature or info on-line as to whether I should use gluten
free vanilla extract (and other flavored extracts) or if it's ok to use the
extracts with alcohol in it. We tried a strawberry extract from the health
food store w/o the alcohol but it wasn't that flavorful. I did find that
Watkins carries a couple gluten free extracts (caramel, peanut butter, and peach)
but is it ok to also try some of the other extracts with alcohol in it? Also,
if you have a favorite supplier that you use and could recommend, that would be
helpful.
Thanks,
Sharon Koller
