Debbie,
I, too, was found to be anemic and was instructed to take iron. It was hard
on my system and after I complained to my doctor, he changed me from
ferrous sulfate to Nifrex. I'm not sure of the dose but I can check and let
you know, but I do know that the Nifrex seems easier to tolerate for me.
I also seem to need a stool softener now (I take Colace), just once a day. My
doctor told me not to take my thyroid med (Levoxyl) and my Nifrex at the same
time, so I take one in the A.M. and one in the P.M. I'm feeling somewhat
better but still not as good as I think I should feel. We are still adjusting
the dose of Levoxyl but don't seem to have it right yet. I had been on
Synthroid for many years and felt great, but after some time, it just wasn't
helping me as much. I often look at other people and think "I want to feel
as good as everyone else feels". Maybe someday.
Hope this helps,
Nancy
