Finally found a place to ask some questions :) Last fall I got a call from
my gp saying that he wanted to see me. When I arrived he informed me that a
blood test I had done, showed I was having a problem with my thyroid. I did
not know what questions to ask as I reallly did not even have any idea I was
being tested for this. He then put me on levothyroxine 1mg and told me I
would have to be on it for life. He has never called back for a retest. I
recently went to see my gyn and he has me scheduled for blood work tomorrow.
I am also on ogen (estrogen) as I had an hysterectomy two years ago. I read
in one of the letters that it my interfere with the thyroid meds. Is this
true? For the last three weeks I have been very tired and when I lay down
to rest my heart pumps madly. Regarding the fatigue, I also have multiple
sclerosis (dxed 77 ) so I thought the fatigue was due to that disease. But
I feel very edgy and my skin is so very dry, more than the usual winter
stuff! Also my eyes are starting to bother me.
>Could this be because I have never been rechecked and perhaps I do not need
thyroid meds? I have been afraid to stop the meds. Does any of this sound
familiar? Am I going nuts? What are all these levels I hear people talking
about? Thanks for any info. I really would like to know what to ask when I
see my doctor on the 11th. Thanks ever so much
Jackie
