When I started on Synthroid, I developed a craving for hijiki (Japanese
seaweed). I wanted it by the boxful! The craving has diminished somewhat,
but it's still active. In fact, my lunchtime was much too late today. I
passed a health food store with a salad bar, and yes, took a big portion of
hijiki.
However, about a week ago I read on this list that such iodine-rich foods
are not a good idea for hypos. I still don't understand why. Maybe someone
can explain it to me again, or direct me to an explanation.
