Debbie,
Regarding Armour - after seeing so many people report good results with
Armour - and after feeling so lousy on Synthroid for 7 years, I called around
to find a doctor who was willing to prescribe it. I saw him April 3 and while
his preferred suggestion was to increase my Synthroid dose, he was quite
willing to let me give Armour a try. He did suggest that it may be difficult
to find, that I may need to find more of an old-time pharmacy that would
carry it.
I had absolutely no problem getting the Armour and have been on it for 2
weeks now. If I'd have to make the decision this minute, my vote would be for
Armour, but I do want to wait and fairly assess my progress. Maybe it's mind
over matter, but I feel so much better. Really, many of my symptoms are
greatly diminished. I haven't lost any of the weight I have accumulated, but
I'm still holding out hope for that one, too. It's only been 2 weeks after
all.
I think doctors should quit dismissing so easily any other treatment for
hypo. It seems to me that a different medication is worth a try, at least.
Take care; this is a great group with so much valuable information. I've
learned more in the last few months of this and other information groups than
in 7 years.
Cindy
