I had 90% of my thyroid gland surgically removed for a "possible"
malignancy. Anyway since them I have gained 40 lbs and been plagued by
multiple debilitating syptoms. When I finally after months and months of
research found Wilson's Sydrome I could have cried with joy! Unfortunately
in there are no physicians in Toronto who I can find who have any knowledge
of the syndrome, with the exception of one who has opted out of OHIP and
charges a fortune for you see him. Anyway....I persuaded my wonderful GP to
prescribe Cytomel and initially I felt like a million dollars. That was 8
months ago. Recently the symptoms have returned and most distressing is the
inability to swallow, and really painful muscle spasm in my neck and
shoulder. Does anyone else have these symptoms? Is there anything I can do
to relieve them? Are they perhaps indicative of too high a dose?
Also, I hear about a new medication which combines T4 and T3. I believe it
is produced by a pharmacutical company callled "Forrest", and is called
"Lexiton"? Any one have any info on this?
I look forward to reading your responses
Mary
