I don't know about the use of tricyclics for sleep, but I take Desyrel
which I believe is an SSRI antidepressant. It works wonderfully for me. I
also tried Luvox (another antidepressant) which didn't work and Xanax to
which I had side effects. I take a sub-therapeutic dose of desyrel - 25
mg. as it is only for sleep - not for treating the depression (I am also on
prozac for the depression). If I take more desyrel than that I am even
more of a slug than usual.
I am also curious about the relationship, if any, between chronic
fatige/fibromyalgia and thyroid disease. I have Grave's disease and have
heard that CFS/FM is more common in people with other autoimmune diseases.
