I was put on Synthroid 4 years ago when a benign nodule was discovered and
excised. My doctors believe the nodule developed as a late side effect of
radiation therapy to the neck and chest (cancer treatment). I have since lost
20 pounds. Six months ago, I was switched to Levothroid, which I've been told
is produced by Armour and the desired alternative to Synthroid. However, my
weight (despite the same level of appetite) has not decreased further. These
medications effect people differently I guess.

I have had constant weigh gain with Synthroid. Never made the connection
until reading this newsletter AND switching to Armour. Have lost my
appetite. Before I was rabidly hungry all the time. Am now 100 lbs over
weight all gained while on Synthroid. There may be other factors, but
right now I'm blaming Synthroid. Hope lose some weight now. Helen
