Hello all -

I've read a note posted by a fellow member about inflamed thyroid and
then I read a reply by "Javic". It made me think about my situation. I
have candida KRUSEI overgrowth. About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with
Hashimoto but I never took any medication for it because I didn't have
any symptoms (or at least that 's what I thought). Last September I was
on antibiotics for a month and it caused severe hypo symptoms. I saw an
endo and had a blood test done. My TSH was above 5 so I was prescribed
Synthroid. I saw numerous doctors, had an Allergy blood test done and
didn't show that I was allergic to candida, but one of the doctors did a
mold and candida skin test and I became dizzy, started to cry, my
thyroid started to bother me. The doctor told me that it's because I
am allergic to candida and because that's what I have in my body, I have
problems with my thyroid and I have to have allergy shots. After the
first shot I got the same symptoms but the second shot was better.
However, I developed an ovarian cyst, which is very likely to be formed
if you have a hypothyroid problem (according to Broda Barnes). I
stopped the allergy shots and recently saw a doctor who told me that
candida attaches itself to hormones made by thyroid and mimics
underproduction of this hormone (my description might not be very
detailed but in general I think it's accurate). He suggested not to do
allergy shots because it can aggrevate thyroid. Does anybody know, if
this relationship does exist and how one can get rid of candida allergy
without doing allergy shots? It seems like a catch 22, you are allergic
to candida and that's why you have a thyroid problem, but you can't do
an allergy therapy because it will aggrevate the situation. What can
be done? Did anybody have this experience?

Thanks,

Irene
