_American Hospital Formulary Service_ is my and most hospitals doc's
favorite. It costs much moe than the PDR though and is geared/written
for those with medical terminology and function knowledge.
I think it's never totally clear who will react to what medications and
in what way. There can be drug interactions that normally don't occur
in most people but one out of 10,000 will have an unusual reaction. We
know historically that drugs that seemed to be OK during test trials
ended up causing lots of problems for the general public. Foods and
herbs have had historically problems at times too.
