Tell them that you are blind and hence cannot see the colors. Ask for an
alternate method to find out whatever they are trying to find out using the
lights or ask a support tech to come over.

or, if you really want to be adventurous, check out the vOICe program at
http://www.seeingwithsound.com

this program among other features has a color identifier accessed with the
f10 key.
Note:
You will need a camera that connects to your computer and can transmit live
images to the vOICe which will be running on your computer to do the kind
of color identification you wat to do.
