Hi Everyone,

My husband is nearly 62 years old and was biopsy diagnosed with CD about 5 years ago. A DEXA showed that he also had osteopenia.

He has been taking Citracal ever since CD diagnosis and now uses Citracal Plus. He also used Miacalcin nasal spray for a year or so with no positive results, but has been using weekly fosamax for about two years and his osteopenia is now resolved.

We are concerned about the negative side effects of continued fosamax use and are considering stopping the fosamax and either continuing the Citracal Plus or switching to Tri Boron Plus as recommended by several people on this list.

We would be interested in any feedback from anyone who has stopped using fosamax. Have you had any negative effects from discontinuing its use? We were told by our physician that once you started using fosamax, you would have to use it for the rest of your life.

Any positive or negative comments about this subject are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help. You are always so wonderful about taking the time to reply to any questions.
