Instead of searching for the lost file --just do a reg restore by a boot up in DOS MODE and typing at the c:\> prompt "scanreg /restore"
I would choose the oldest one (hoping it was not corrupt).

Subject: [PCBUILD] BSOD x 3, system locks up

My daughter has an HP Vectra PII-266 w/ 96MB ram and a 30GB
hd and WIN 98SE. She deleted some software and now the system locks up after 3 BSOD's - first error is 0E0028:00000015, second is 0D 0246:015F47FB and third is 02F7:015F268B. I can boot into safe mode, I've checked .ini files, bootlog, msconfig, paged thru the registry, autoexec.bat, config.sys, looking for references to the programs she deleted, can't find anything.
If I do step-by-step boot, I get a line which appears to be art of autoexec.bat with a reference to the program, but I can't find it in the .ini's, autoexec.bat, startup or anywhere else to try to remove it.
