I adored my mother's mother, she absolutely was the best grandma anybody
could have. She was always playing games with me, and trying to teach me
arithmetic. Before she got married she had been a teacher. So her games like
dominos were aimed at getting me to add and subtract, but it was always fun.
I heard from my Mom, that grandma was always off playing cards with her
friends and never at home, so Mom was always getting into trouble. My
father's mother, I never liked her, she was a sour-puss, and never understood
about my cp. She was born and raised in Kishniv, Russia, had very little
education, and came to the US in the 1920s after my grandfather escaped a
death sentence for passing out socialist brochures. Since my Mom passed
away, I mostly try to ignore mother's day, as I get sad when I think I'm not
a mother.
