Please excuse the cross-post.

First of all, let me confess to one and all that I did a stupid thing with a
client this morning, and now I'm wondering if there is any way out without
making a 100-mile trip.

I have a client who is a student at another university, and he wished to
configure Outlook so that he can receive his mail via a dial-up connection
while at home for the remainder of the summer. He is using Windows XP Pro,
and I do not yet have XP (mistake #1).

We went into the Email Options of Outlook, and changed a setting from
Workgroups to Internet Only. (By the way, we were doing this by phone.) He
repeated a dialog box to me which, according to him, stated that Outlook
would close but reopening it would cause it to work properly. We closed
Outlook, and he reopened it, only to find that it needs a CD to copy files.
Unfortunately, he's not sure where his CD is.

Okay. My question is: Is there a way to undo what was done without having a
CD? If not, I have a 100-mile trip to make, which I do not relish.

Thanks for any ideas. Also, are there any free resources out there where I
might learn a bit more about XP even though I do not yet have it? Thanks.
