I hope you can help me. I recently assembled a new computer and I
cannot get pc anywhere to function properly on it. If I dial in on my
modem from any other computer I own it clicks one piece of information
every ten seconds. It can take several minutes to get the host's desktop
to load on the remote. It works faster if I constantly move the mouse
on the remote computer. I am running version 10.5 of pc anywhere. It
works perfectly going from it to any other computer or from any of my
older computers to each other just not to the one in question. I have
logged several hours of time with Symantic who first told me to try a
different graphics card but this did nothing. They walked me through the
setup procedures and modem settings. I was also told try another modem
which I did (same brand and type however). I am at a loss. The computer
in question uses a VIA694 motherboard with an AMD Atholon processor (XP
1700+), Award bios version 6.0, 1 gig of memory, an Intel v92 modem
model 536ep and a 3dForce4 model mx440 agp graphics card, and a linksys
network. All of our computers are running windows 2000 Pro
version5.0.2195, service pk 4. Could this be a modem problem? I have no
idea what to try next. TIA!, Sincerely, Don
