Yes, and the Nazis not only exterminated the Jews, they also went after homosexuals, the disabled, the elderly, and any others they deemed unfit for the Aryan culture.  Hitler was reprehensible, but he struck a chord in thousands of Germans who hated and feared Jews in the aftermath of WWI. The Treaty of Versailles after WWI was so harmful to the German economy, there was a massive inflation that went into the triple digits and paved the way for dissatisfaction with the rest of Europe and the US and allowed Hitler to gain power.

I won't go so far as to generally equate Bush, et al with Nazis, but I sure think they come close in this case.

But I agree with you and Kat.  This experience is nothing new. It was
tried
before in the 1920's and 30's in America under the name eugenics.   The
ideas of Nazi
Germany came out of this era, so much so that at the Nuremburg (sp)
trials,
one of the defenses of the Nazi's were that they were only copying
America's
idealogies.
