It sounds as though you must be running some flavor of Windows 9x, probably
windows 98. Am I correct?
If so, your best bet - assuming your machine has enough "horsepower" (2GB
free hd space, at least 128 MB RAM, a Pentium II processor running at at
least 500 MHz) - would be to upgrade to windows 2000 or windows XP. 98 was a
POS right out of the box, and age has not improved it.
If your machine doesn't meet those specs, I think perhaps a trip to your
local electronics emporium _would_ be the best bet.
