I just found out that Watchfire came out with a new, improved version:
Bobby 5.0. For more information visit
http://www.watchfire.com/products/bobby.asp.
Here's the bad news: The regular price tag for a single-user license is
$ 299.00 ($ 199 if purchase by May 7). I called Watchfire to inquire
about prices for updates, multiple-user licenses and server licenses.
Well, here are the answers:
Upgrades are available until May 7 for $99.
There is no multiple-user license.
The new server-run product is called Accessibility XM. It has more
functionalities than PC-run Bobby 5.0. Unlike Bobby 5.0, Accessibility
XM can only be applied towards web pages on the institution's servers.
The price depends on the number of institutional web pages, ranging from
$13,000 to $30,000. This price range already reflects an educational
discount. For more info visit
http://www.watchfire.com/products/webxm/accessibilityxm.asp.
Apparently, these new versions incorporate many enhancements. In order
to maintain a civil tone of discussion in this group, I prefer not to
comment on the new price structure.
