In Minneapolis, the Wedge supermarket is great for gluten-free. they even
have fresh baked goods

The Wedge is a health food store downtown Minneapolis. It's a gem of a
place. They have gf baked goods every day. The gf pistachio cake with buttercream
frosting is one of the most heavenly gf goods I have had! I would pay for a
slice even if I weren't gf! GF muffins are usually in stock as are gf
cookies--all homemade. I don't like these nearly as well as the cake. They also
have their own homemade gf bread, too, that's very good.

There are Sidney's restaurants around the Twin Cities. They will make their
dishes with rice pasta instead of wheat pasta, and these are delicious meals
as well. Outbacks are also scattered around the Twin Cities, too.
Hi: If you will go to the Outback Steakhouse web site, they have a gluten
free menu and a location map. Good luck.
You're in luck. You'll be by three excellent health food store options.
Lakewinds is in Minnetonka and off Excelsior Boulevard. In Minneapolis, there's
a Whole Foods of Excelsor Boulevard near Lake Harriet. The Wedge Co-op is
south of downtown on Lyndale Avenue.

Sidney's restaurants offer gluten-free options and have rice pasta upon
request. There's one on Highway 7 in Minnetonka and one in Minneapolis in Uptown
off Hennepin avenue.

I am originally from this area and I can tell you that Lakewinds Natural
Health Food store is great - it's located in Minnetonka on Hwy 101 (I can't
remember the other crossroad). Whole Foods is another store that is excellent for
gluten-free foods. I shop there when I am in MN and also here in Chicago.
There is one in Minneapolis - right near Lake Calhoun, which is the lake next to
Lake Harriet.

There are a lot of great restaurants in the area. Just to name a few -
Sydney's (in Minnetonka on Hwy 7 and on Hennepin Ave. in Uptown) for good salads,
Auriga (also on Hennepin in Uptown), Lucia's (Hennepin and 31st in
Minneapolis). I will put a list together of some other places that use fresh ingredients
and would be accomodating.

Sidney's (Minneapolis, St Paul, Edina, Minnetonka) is a restaurant which
serves any of its pasta dishes with wheat-free rice noodles when requested!
So so so great to be able to order pasta... Just make sure that they
understand to cook the rice noodles in a separate pot and not in the big
pasta cooker with the wheat pasta. They are very aware of what is in their
food, and definitely willing to get answers to
you. http://www.sidneysrestaurant.com/

For shopping, my favorite co-op is the Wedge (2105 Lyndale Ave S
MINNEAPOLIS MN 55405-3027 (612) 871-3993) - they have a good selection of
gf flours and mixes, and they have gf baked goods, too (baked right there)
- usually a different kind of muffin each day, sometimes zucchini or banana
bread, and usually one or two cakes or cheesecakes They even bake their own
gf bread, which can be found in the bread isle. All of their deli food is
labeled as to whether it is gluten-free, dairy-free, wheat-free, etc, plus
has great ingredient lists. HIGHLY recommended. Since I live two blocks
from the Wedge, I'm there easily 5x/week.

Lakewinds Co-op in Minnetonka also has a respectable selection of gf items
(scones, cakes, muffins). Their deli items aren't labeled as well as the
Wedge. Check out their classes, too. The woman who teaches their classes
(Debra Smith) has a cookbook that you can buy at Lakewinds. I've only made
the french bread from her cookbook, but that recipe alone was worth the
purchase price.

Based on my phone call to them (Sidney's) last year, they have roasted
chicken that is GF. They have marinara, mardi gras and coconut sauces that are GF
for the rice pasta.

Lucia's is actually a wine bar/bistro that uses completely fresh and organic
ingrediants for their menu items. They change their menu weekly, sometimes
daily! They usually have one or two menu items, but always have fresh seafood,
beef, and chicken as well. I usually stick with the salads and seafood.
Here is the link to their website in case you want to know more!

I order different things (Sidney's) - I'm fond of pasta fresca , fiesta
chicken, and piedmont portobello for pasta dishes - they also have great salads. I
stay away from anything thai or asian, as the soy sauce Sidney's uses has
wheat in it. The servers at Sidney's are great about answering questions about
ingredients. You'll have a great time!

I live in the Twin Cities and can recommend some
places for getting gluten-free products:

Near Lake Harriet:
Whole Foods Market
3060 Excelsior Blvd
Minneapolis MN 55416
(612) 927-8141

The Wedge Co-Op (great for organic produce too!)
2015 Lyndale Ave S
Minneapolis MN 55405
(612) 874-7275

Rainbow's End Bakery (fresh-baked GF cookies, muffins)
7115 Cedar Lake Road
St. Louis Park MN
(952) 544-2253

(Sort of) near Lake Minnetonka:
Lakewinds Co-Op
17523 Minnetonka Blvd
Minnetonka MN
(952) 473-0292
www.lakewinds.com

St. Cloud may be trickier as they are a ways from the city, but if they have
a Cub Foods I would recommend trying that. (Cub is a large grocery store with
many locations in the Twin Cities as well, and usually carries at least some
GF items in their "healthy"
section.)

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions or need more info.

Cub, Whole Foods and the Wedge definitely sell Amy's. I don't know about
gf-sour cream, but the big brands here are Kemp's (owned by Marigold Foods: (800)
322-
9566) and Old Home (800) 628-8700.
Blanchard & Blanchard dressings are GF & dairy free printed on label in tiny
print.
They include:

LeAnn Chine
Three Fishes
King and I Thai
Ciatti's
Blue Earth
Modern Cafe
Timberlodge Steakhouse
Sidney's Chipotle
Culvers
Ceatte's
Axels
PF Change
Red Lobster

Also to purchase GF food you could try:

Lakelands Natural Foods, 17512 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka, 952/473-7875
Valley Natural Foods, 13750 County Road 11, Burnsville, 952/891-1212
Valley Natural Foods, 14015 Grand Avenue South, Burnsville, 612/892-6661
Wedge Community Coop, 2105 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis 612/871-
