What are the advantages a multi-channel sound card will give you? Do you need to tell the computer you want to use more than one channel? (ex -- one for WYNN and one for DNS?) 

Also, are the sound cards in Telex "buddy pods" multi-channel?

Hmm.  I would have guessed that all computers now have multichannel
cards.  Maybe some of the no-name ultracheaps may not.  Certainly my IBM
Thinkpad and several of its predecessors have had multichannel sound cards.
