Be very careful of this. AMD does not recommend replacing the thermal pad
with paste of any kind. The AMD processor runs hot enough that the paste
will flow and will leave the processor unprotected. Although I don't recall
AMD's statement about warranties, I expect that it may have an impact if a
claim is attempted.

If I might add a comment to Joe's comprehensive instructions - I've found
that some processor\motherboard combinations just DO NOT like the pad of
thermal paste that comes pre-applied to some heat sinks.
