Dori, you are far from the only one on this list who can attest to that.
Refined carbohydrates (and that would include anything made from grains and sugars
not natural to the Paleo diet) have a drug like quality to them, that many
people (but certainly not all) can react to with uncontrolled bingeing. Most
agree that raw nuts are much less addictive than roasted and salted ones. Foods
become much easier to binge on when adulterated with added sugars, fats and
salt. I know if I keep my carbs to a reasonable level (just above, but not quite
in ketosis) I find it much easier to control my eating the next day. If I slip
up and eat (insert carb-laden poison of choice here!) my blood sugar bounces
around just enough to make getting back on track the next day extremely
difficult.

The Eades are certainly not peddling nonsense.
