The management of Gamtel wishes to inform the general public that in
February 2004, there will be a number change for all telephone lines
from 6 digits to 7 digits.
The general public is hereby advised to :
Put 4 in front of numbers currently starting with 2, 3 or 4
put 5 in front of numbers currently starting with 5, 6 or 7
Put 9 in front of Gamcel Numbers
Put 7 in front of Africel Numbers ; and
Put 5 in front of all internet service providers dial -up numbers .
When this new numbering plan comes into effect in 2004, Please note that
the change does not however effect the 3-digit emergency numbers of the
police, ambulance or fire station .
