If you mean by "dtmf function" the control of the radio from the mic use
menu 45 (D) d-delta mic control.
I use mine very successfully from the mic. You can change power, check the
reverse while on repeaters memory/vfo plus many other functions.

oh yes, you can also check s-meter and enter frequencies from the mic.
