I have an A21m, and if I saw no lights and heard no noise I'd first suspect that my mobo was gone. If you are real, real handy with computers you are welcome to work inside a laptop, but it is much more difficult than working inside a desktop. Parts for old IBM's are expensive and hard to find. I'd pay an expert to tell me its dead, and then I'd get something newer and better for less money than the parts and labor for fixing the IBM, if it can be fixed.
